Credit Suisse released its Global Wealth Report for 2013
with some surprising insights. Top 1% of the population owns 46% of the global
wealth, which indicates a huge disparity in wealth distribution, cites Sachin Karpe.
The two thirds of adults in the world have assets worth less
than $10,000 and together account for just 3 percent of global wealth.
Report also said that global wealth will jump a further 40
percent by 2018 to reach $334 trillion. With increasing wealth, the disparity
will increase further, Sachin Karpe
said, predicting a trend.
The report by Credit Suisse also said that there were 98,700
individuals with net worth exceeding $50 million. More than halof of them stay
in US, followed by Europe. Brazil,
Russia, India, and China (BRIC) are each estimated to have around 5,830 such
ultra-high net worth individuals. This holds a lot of opportunity for Multi
Family Offices in India, said SachinKarpe.
